The plans

Trades.Help's paid help is delivered through Trades.Agency, our parent brand for trades marketing. These are its current plans.

Plan Month-to-month Billed annually In plain words
Growth $1,999 per month $1,499 per month The core marketing plan, meant for a trades business that already has steady work
Elite $3,999 per month $2,999 per month Marketing across more channels, and half price on Trades.Agency website design packages
Enterprise $7,999 per month $5,999 per month Your own marketing team with priority support, and a website designed and built at no charge, whichever package you pick

There is no long-term contract: you pay monthly, and 30 days' notice is all it takes to end a plan. Committing for a year brings the lower annual price shown. The full, current details are on the Trades.Agency pricing page; if anything there differs from this page, the Trades.Agency page is the one to trust.

Which option fits a new trades business?

Choose by where your business is, not by which plan sounds biggest. For most first-year owners the order is: free guides first, then a consultation, then a plan only once there is enough work coming in to justify it.

  • Just started, under a few months in: read the Google Business Profile guide and the first 20 customers guide. Do the tasks. Keep a call log.
  • Basics done, still not enough calls: book the free consultation and bring your call log. We will tell you what we see and whether a plan makes sense.
  • Steady work and ready to grow into a crew: this is where the Growth plan is designed to fit, because there is now enough job value to make the numbers work.
  • Multiple services or locations, or a new website needed: compare Elite and Enterprise, which include website discounts or a website build.

A simple way to judge if a plan is worth it

Use your own numbers. Marketing is only worth paying for if the jobs it brings cover the cost with room to spare.

Here is a worked example you can redo. Say your average job is $900 and your gross margin on a job, after materials and your own labour cost, is about 40%. Each job then contributes about $360. A plan at $1,999 per month would need to bring roughly six extra jobs a month just to break even ($1,999 divided by $360). If your business cannot yet handle six extra jobs, or your job value is much lower, a monthly plan is probably too early, and the free route is the better choice for now.

Run the same sum with your numbers before deciding. If you are not sure of your margin, that is a good topic for the free consultation.

What drives the cost of marketing

Even if you never hire anyone, it helps to know what makes marketing expensive, so you can judge any quote you receive.

  1. Ad spend. Money paid to platforms such as Google for ads is usually separate from what an agency charges. Ask how any quote handles it.
  2. Competition in your area. A busy city trade has more businesses chasing the same searches than a small town.
  3. Number of services and locations. Each main service and area usually needs its own page and attention.
  4. Website needs. A small starter site costs far less than a large, multi-location one.
  5. How much you do yourself. Coaching costs less than done-for-you work because you supply the time.

Questions to ask any marketing provider

Whether you work with us or anyone else, ask these before paying. They protect you.

  • Who will own my Google profile, website, domain and ad accounts?
  • Is there a contract term, and how do I cancel?
  • What exactly is included each month, in writing?
  • How will results be measured, and how often will I see them?
  • Is ad spend included or separate, and are taxes extra?

If anyone promises you a set number of leads or a fixed spot on Google, treat that as a warning. Our answers to all five questions are on the FAQ page. To ask about your own situation, see the contact page, or read about our four services.

Frequently asked questions

Is there anything cheaper than the Growth plan?

The free guides and the free first consultation. For many first-year owners, those are the right starting point, and we will say so if a monthly plan does not make sense for you yet.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Trades.Agency plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract, and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Annual billing is optional and gives a lower monthly price.

Are taxes included?

No. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and owners add the GST or HST for their province, or GST and QST in Quebec.

What does the free consultation include?

A 30-minute conversation for eligible trades businesses, separate from paid plans. We look at where you are, what you have tried and what we would do next. There is no obligation to buy anything.

Do I keep my profile and website if I cancel?

Yes. Your Google profile, domain, website and any ad accounts should be in your name from the start. Cancelling a plan does not take them away.
