Trades.Help is a help centre for tradespeople who have just started working for themselves. We write free, practical guides on the parts of running a trades business that apprenticeships do not cover, mainly how to get found, get trusted and get called. For owners who want more than reading, we offer setup help and coaching through our parent brand, Trades.Agency.
We are a marketing and business advisory service only. We are not a contractor. Nobody at Trades.Help does trade work, and we do not hand out or sell jobs. That keeps us on your side of the table.
Why a help centre for new trades owners
Most marketing advice for trades is written for established companies with a budget, an office manager and a fleet. A tradesperson in their first year has none of that. They have skill, a vehicle, a phone and very little spare time.
We built Trades.Help around that reality. Every guide starts with the free or nearly free version of a task, explains it step by step, and only then mentions when paying for help makes sense. If you never contact us, the guides should still leave you better off.
Who we are
Trades.Help is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. We are a Canadian business, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we work with trades owners in every province and territory.
- Sedighi.ca is the growth, marketing and technology consultancy Ali Sedighi runs. Trades.Agency, the brand our paid plans come from, sits under it alongside HVAC.Agency, Conv.ca and others.
- SAZ.ca, short for Strategy & Acceleration Zone, is the Canadian firm Ali founded for strategy, AI and revenue work; he is its Founder & Managing Partner.
Trades.Help sits in the Trades.Agency family. Paid plans, when an owner needs them, are Trades.Agency plans, and the prices are on our pricing page.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali Sedighi leads Trades.Help. His degree is an MBA in Technology Management. His marketing career began in 2007 with ONE.ir, a full-service digital agency he founded, which gives him 17+ years in the field. He now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Besides SAZ.ca, he founded MyAutomation.ca and Conv.ca, the latter an agency focused on turning website visitors into enquiries. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca and RomaHeating.ca.
That HVAC work matters here because it is where our methods were tested: getting small and new service brands onto Google, into the map results and into customers' phones. The results page shows what those projects achieved and what carries over to other trades.
You can read more about Ali on his profile at Sedighi.ca and on the HVAC.Agency about page.
How we work
We work the way we suggest you run your own business: clear scope, honest numbers and no surprises.
- Free first conversation. The first 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses. We ask about your trade, your area, your typical job and what you have already tried.
- Plain recommendations. We tell you what we would do in your position, including when the answer is "follow the free guide and come back in two months".
- Written scope. If you want paid help, we put what is included, what it costs and how it will be measured in writing before work starts.
- You own everything. Your Google profile, your website, your domain and any ad accounts are in your name. We only ever have the access you choose to give us.
- Month-to-month. Trades.Agency plans have no long-term contract and can be cancelled with 30 days' notice.
What we will not do
Being clear about limits is part of being helpful.
- No trade work. We are not contractors and never send anyone to a job.
- No licensing or legal advice. Questions about licences, tickets, permits and insurance belong with your provincial or territorial bodies. Our areas pages link to them for every region.
- No promises of calls or rankings. Nobody controls Google's results. We explain what tends to work and measure what actually happens.
- No fake reviews or invented claims. Everything on your profile and website should be true and provable.
How to reach us
We keep contact simple: call, text or email. There are no booking systems and no sales funnels. The contact page explains what to include in your first message so we can be useful straight away, and the FAQ answers the most common questions about working with us.
